After passing through breaks Interstate Park, Kentucky greeted me with two flat tires, three dog chases and inadequate weather all packed in a day of riding. Ok… so sure I may be unleashing my irritation just a little bit. In hindsight Kentucky has a rich Appalachian culture with Civil War presence in the Southeastern Kentucky areas. It was interesting riding through these areas seeing the authenticity of its history unveil as I passed by. The people I’ve met, helped me out a lot and thank them tremendously but these things happen and all you can do is just be prepared for it and keep moving forward. Apart from all this I met lots of people everyday along my route.

From Boonville I rode to Berea, KY which has a historic college there and a nice small downtown area.

I met Andrew and SunJin in Western Kentuky. They’re really cool guys and are traveling from Connecticut to San Francisco . We ended up riding for a bit together and met up later that evening in Illinois and share a campground spot at andrewstour.tumblr.com
